Dot and Stan Hippen

Dorothy Hippen is at home in Wellsburg with her husband, Stan, following seven weeks in the hospital battling botulism. It was a difficult time for the entire family, who fought to be at her side during the pandemic.

On a late August morning, Stan Hippen discovered his beloved wife Dorothy was unable to speak and was having great difficulty. She was struggling to even breathe.

He rushed her to Grundy Memorial Hospital. The emergency room visit was the first step in finding out that the family matriarch is fighting a rare case of botulism.
