For many, Friday’s announcement by Gov. Kim Reynolds that schools would not be back in session this season came as no real surprise. Neither did the announcement that spring sports would not be allowed to even start.

The announcement puts in jeopardy more than just spring sports. Laurie Gann is the head girls track and field and basketball coach. She would be looking at the start of summer camps and leagues in the next couple months, but is less than optimistic that those things will happen. She’s also more than just a little concerned that school and athletics will return next fall. She also admits to being anxious about the winter seasons.
