Hames signs with NIACC

Alyssa Hames (front left) is shown with mother Tracy to her left. Behind her, left to right, are NIACC head coach Brad Vaught, AGWSR head coach Laurie Gann, and AGWSR assistant coach Mike Finger as she signs a letter of intent to play basketball at NIACC.

Some of Alyssa Hames’ earliest memories are grabbing a basketball once the boys were done playing and while her mother, Tracy, totaled up the scorebook. Her dad, Brad, was an assistant on the AGWSR Cougar boys’ teams all of her life until the 2018-19 season came to an end and he resigned.

“I would jump off of the stage and run to get a basketball and shoot,” Hames said. “And I remember always shooting in the gym with my Dad and Alex when I was little.”
