Jayden Bowles

Jayden Bowles throws this stiff arm to gain some of his 18 rushing yards here. His real blow came on an 85-yard kickoff return for a score to start the second half and propel AGWSR to a 21-0 Homecoming win Friday night against Hudson.

Both teams shot themselves in the foot on numerous occasions Friday night in Ackley, but the host AGWSR Cougars did enough to win. Not only was their 21-0 win over Hudson a big finish to Homecoming Week, it kept the 3-3 Cougars alive for the fourth playoff spot in Class A, Dist. 3 at 2-3. A win next week at Nashua-Plainfield would cinch it at 3-3 in district play.

The Pirates were also playing to have a chance at the spot despite coming in at just 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the District. Heading to Ackley, Hudson also had two district games remaining – AGWSR and N-P.
