Cale Culver

Cale Culver reacts to a Meskwaki fumble, one of their six, before recovering it and returning it for a third quarter touchdown. He did the same thing earlier in the game, helping the Cougars beat the Warriors 74-14 in Ackley.

Taurice Grant had 1,025 yards passing with 13 touchdowns and 941 yards rushing with 19 scores this season. Unfortunately for the Meskwaki Settlement Warriors, he was on the sidelines in Ackley Friday night as they and the AGWSR Cougars opened the postseason.

With Jaden Penning rushing for 148 yards and four touchdowns and adding another on a pass from Bo Gerbracht, the Cougars had little trouble beating the visitors. AGWSR’s 74-14 win pushed them through to this week’s 8-Player second round. There they’ll face top-ranked defending champion Don Bosco.
