Iowa Sen. Liz Mathis, a Democrat from Hiawatha, will be in Hardin County next month to meet and greet area voters. Mathis announced this summer that she is running to represent Iowa’s 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. That district, which encompasses an area of east central and northeast Iowa, will become the new 2nd District after redistricting takes effect after the November 2022 elections. That new district will include Hardin County. The district is currently represented by Rep. Ashley Hinson, a Republican.

Mathis will host a meet and greet in Eldora on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Eldora Public Library’s Community Room (1202 10th St.). It is open to the public.

Mathis will be on the November 2022 ballot for the 2nd Congressional District.
