Dr. Thomas Fielding will play the final concert of the 2019 Iowa Falls Summer Organ Recital Series on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 4 p.m. The concert will be held at St. Matthew’s By-the-Bridge Episcopal Church on the corner of Railroad and Oak streets, next to the US Route 65 Bridge across the Iowa River.

Dr. Fielding is the Director of Music and Liturgy at St. Augustine Cathedral in Kalamazoo, Mich. He holds s doctorate in organ performance from Indiana University Jacob’s School of Music where he studied with Christopher Young. He is the first prize winner in the annual Arthur Poister and San Marino (CA) Organ Playing Competitions. His undergraduate study was at Valparaiso University where he studied with Martin Jean.

Dr. Fielding will play a varied program of classical organ works, to include compositions by J. S. Bach, Max Reger, and others.

There will be a reception in the undercroft of the church following the recital where you can greet the artist and enjoy light refreshments. These programs are made possible in part by grants from the Hardin County Community Endowment, The Iowa Falls Church Women United, St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, and individual free-will donations. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
