The Iowa Department of Natural Resources and LT Leon Associates, a Des Moines-based civil engineering firm, will host a meeting about the Steamboat Rock dam this month. The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Iowa River Conservation and Improvement Club (Boat Club), which is located at 299 N. 19th St., Steamboat Rock, on the west side of the river.

Anyone who lives, works or recreates in the Steamboat Rock area is asked to attend the open house. Conversation will be around the dam and the river.
