About this report:

Child care is an issue that touches every Iowan, whether they’re a parent or not. To explore the problems and possible solutions surrounding child care, four Iowa newspapers collaborated to produce the stories and photos in this special section. Journalists from the Iowa Falls Times Citizen, Carroll Daily Times Herald, Mount Pleasant News and the Cedar Rapids Gazette reported these stories in conjunction with the Iowa Ideas initiative. That initiative, sponsored by The Gazette in Cedar Rapids, publishes five magazines throughout the year and will host its annual two-day conference Oct. 3 and 4. Learn more at: iowaideas.com.
