ECC Students

International students such as Hector Candelaria and Vitoria Kazanovski often look for other places to go during the holiday breaks at ECC. Candelaria (left) will be staying in the dorms during Thanksgiving and Kazanovski (second) will be going with a teammate on the volleyball team. Chloe Roberts and Laikyn Miller live closer and can go home.

Being away from home for the first time can be difficult. Being away from family during the holidays can be even harder.

While there’s not an official program in place to help Ellsworth Community College students who can’t spend school breaks with their families, there are plenty of people looking out for them.

Lounging in the dorms

ECC students Laikyn Miller, Hector Candelaria, Vitoria Kazanovski and Chloe Roberts lounge in the commons of Wall Hall. The dorms will be open all this week for students that can't go home for the break.
