Alden Elementary students are reaping the benefits of the Alden School Board's decision to renovate the playground area. The site includes new swings, a large musical set piece, a play and pour surface, and more.

At the beginning of the school year, Alden Elementary students could see some of the new additions to the playground area, but were unable to utilize them at the time.

That changed a few weeks ago, as the district's renovated playground project reached its completion. According to Alden Elementary Principal Jacki Kooistra, the $156,000 project provides a modernized play area for students.

Alden Elementary Principal Jacki Kooistra said students are enjoying the additional swings at the playground site. District superintendent Tony Neumann estimated the project would end up at $156,000.
