Cadet Kitchen

Iowa Falls-Alden teachers Danae Ites and Matt Mulford, are looking to have the Barlow Challenge match $50,000 in donations to raise enough money for the Cadet Kitchen to purchase a food trailer.

When Danae Ites started teaching at Iowa Falls-Alden High School it was in a decades-old home economics room. Some of her students had the idea to add another class and Culinary Marketing was created. That grew into the Cadet Kitchen and the Cadet Café and smoking meat.

The next step for the class is to add a food trailer.

The design of a proposed Iowa Falls-Alden High School food truck shows the vehicle would be equipped with a smoker, freezer, refrigerator and a concessions window. Its estimated price is nearly $80,000.
