A Bradford man who was sentenced to 10 years in prison earlier this month for breaking into an Ackley home was apparently not pleased with the judge's decision. He is accused of spitting on at least four people on his way out of the courtroom.
According to court documents, 38-year-old Michael Lee Thompson has been charged with four counts of assault for spitting on people seated inside the courtroom at the Hardin County Courthouse in Eldora on June 14 -- the same day Thompson was sentenced. He has also been charged with violation of a no-contact order stemming from a May 1 courtroom incident in which Thompson allegedly shouted "Good luck stealing my kid you (expletive) scumbag," to his former girlfriend. That was the same day a jury found him guilty of second-degree burglary and two counts of first-degree harassment.
