Property taxes in Hardin County will increase if the Board of Supervisors approves levies that were proposed during a public hearing Wednesday.

A new Iowa law requires local governments to hold public hearings on maximum possible tax levy levels. Hardin County Supervisor Lance Granzow said the county’s General Services fund will increase by 11.28 percent, and the Rural Services fund will increase by 1.49 percent, largely because of a transfer of expenses.
