Wind Turbines

After nine months of planning, drafting and voting on an updated wind energy ordinance, the Hardin County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved its final passage and adoption Wednesday morning, throwing a proposed multi-million-dollar project into jeopardy.

The ordinance amendment was the final step in a process that began last November when RWE Renewables announced plans to construct a 200-megawatt wind farm containing as many as 84 wind turbines on the west edge of Hardin County.
