The invasive Emerald Ash Borer is affecting a large number of trees in the Alden Community. City maintenance employee Andy Jass told the Alden Council that more than 60 trees show symptoms of the disease. The city is coming up with a removal/replacement plan for trees located on city property.

Communities across the state have been dealing with the death and removal of ash trees in recent years, largely as a result of the arrival of the invasive Emerald Ash Borer.

Those issues arrived at the Alden City Council's table during their meeting this week.
