The Iowa Valley Community College District celebrated a first this week when retired Chancellor Dr. Chris Duree was named chancellor emeritus. It’s a title that has not previously been awarded to any district chancellor or, perhaps, anyone else.

“This is the first time, to our knowledge, that Iowa Valley has bestowed the honor of the emeritus title on an individual,” IVCCD Chancellor Dr. Kristie Fisher said at the district board’s meeting in Iowa Falls on Wednesday.
