Shopping Thanksgiving

The Bethany Lutheran Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner in Iowa Falls is an equal opportunity shopper. After picking up an order from the Iowa Falls Fareway grocery store last week, volunteers Robin Sampson (left) and Jennifer Hill finished their shopping at the Iowa Falls Hy-Vee store on Monday evening, buying things like chicken broth, celery, cranberry sauce and green beans.

No one is fooling around when it comes to making a meal out of 150 pounds of potatoes, 150 pounds of green beans, 230 pounds of turkey and at least 70 pies. That’s especially true for Bethany Lutheran Church’s Robin Sampson.

Sampson has been coordinating the ever-growing Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner for about 10 years.
