Less than two weeks ago Polly Granzow didn't know she'd be casting one of six electoral votes for President Donald Trump at the Statehouse in Des Moines on Monday.

"I was not going to be an elector," Granzow said. "It was kind of a last-minute thing. I just found out a week before I served that the person in District Four had to back out because of his job, so I was his alternate."
