The start of the next school year will look different, there’s no doubt about it. But how different? What can parents, students and educators expect? It’s going to take some time to answer that question.

The last school year adjourned abruptly in mid-March as the coronavirus pandemic took hold in Iowa and Gov. Kim Reynolds recommended the closure of schools. In April, she announced students would stay away from school buildings through the end of the 2019-2020 school year.
