Iowa Falls City Hall

Work on the new Iowa Falls city hall continues one year after ground was broken. On Sept. 21, City Manager Jody Anderson reported that he thought it would be another four to six weeks before it could open.

The opening of Iowa Falls’ new city hall is still at least a month away, but work could take longer if phone and internet service provider CenturyLink doesn’t respond to months of requests by city officials to extend services to the new building. The company was publicly scolded this week by city officials who said they’ve been trying for months to get a response from the company.

In a fiery speech at Monday’s city council meeting, Iowa Falls City Manager Jody Anderson held up a print-off of a series of emails that he said illustrate the trouble he and other city employees have had trying to get CenturyLink to extend internet and phone wires 100 feet to the new building at the corner of Washington Avenue and River Street.
