Traci Tyler Sentencing 1

Traci Lynn Tyler speaks with her lawyers Ted Fisher (left) and Aaron Siebrecht in the Hardin County Courthouse inside the large courtroom during her sentencing hearing in April. Due to new rules, lawyers and their clients are now required to wear face shields during jury trials.

As of now, those accused of wrongdoing in Iowa will again be allowed to plead their cases in front of a jury of their peers beginning Sept. 14.

The Iowa Judicial Branch postponed all jury trials on May 22 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Hardin County Attorney Darrell Meyer said those postponements have created a backlog for his office.
