Free Rides

Jeanne Rieks, an Iowa Falls Lions Club and Senior Center Board member, and Peoplerides bus driver Marcia Whipple stand next to the bus that will transport local seniors to the Iowa Falls Senior Center.

Rural Iowans are getting older, yet fewer are taking advantage of the services offered to them. Any number of reasons factor into the drop in participation of such things as meals and activities. A major one is transportation.

That is now one less concern for Iowa Falls and Alden seniors, thanks to a partnership between the Iowa Falls Lions Club and the Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging (NEI3A). Together they have made free rides to the Iowa Falls Senior Center available through Peoplerides.
