Tony Neumann

Iowa Falls-Alden High School will get a new leader this summer. Tony Neumann, the current principal at Durant High School, has been hired to replace outgoing principal Clyde Tarrence.

Neumann is coming to Iowa Falls after spending almost his entire life in Durant. He grew up there and graduated with the class of 1997. He earned Bachelor’s degrees in secondary education and math from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, and a Master’s degree from the University of Iowa. Neumann has been teaching at Durant since 2001, leading classes on math, computer science and physics. He became high school principal in 2011, and has served as athletic director for the past year. He has also coached several sports, including six years as the Durant High School varsity girls’ basketball coach.
