Social Distancing Sign

The River Tap restaurant and bar in Iowa Falls is using these signs to remind people to social distance while they're eating or drinking.

Restaurants and bars that fail to enforce social distancing rules will now face stiffer penalties.

On Thursday, the Department of Inspections and Appeals announced a new policy that will penalize the businesses that fail to comply with the governor's Proclamation of Disaster Emergency guidelines. Bars and restaurants are required to ensure six feet of physical distance between each group or individual dining or drinking.

River Tap bartender Mackenzie Goossen lifts up a card placed on tables reminding people to social distance in order to clean and sanitize the table.
