City Hall Rendering

Early architectural renderings of the new Iowa Falls City Hall show a mixture of brick, stone and metal siding on the exterior. Ground will be broken at the site east of the Barlow Library in September, and construction will be complete by June 2020. This view is from the northeast looking southwest, with the Barlow Library in the background.

Nine contractors have submitted bids to build the new Iowa Falls City Hall.

Those bids were opened at City Hall on Thursday. Ed Wineinger of Skott & Anderson Architects of Mason City opened and read the bids. Each bidder submitted a base bid, and five alternates which add or deduct expense based on materials or project details. The nine base bids range in price from King Construction’s $1.3 million bid, to Snyder Construction’s bid of $1.9 million. Wineinger’s project cost estimate was $1.6 million.
