Jane Granzow

The pavers that mark the parking areas on Washington Avenue collect cigarette butts. Jane Granzow picks each one up with her grabber tool and puts them in bags that she carries on her walks.

You’ve probably seen her around town. Plastic grocery bags looped over her left arm, grabber tool in her right hand, eyes on the ground.

Her name is Jane Granzow, but if you slip and call her “that woman” or “the bag lady,” she’ll answer just the same.
