Hardin County farmers whose crops were damaged during the derecho storm on Aug. 10 got some good news on Thursday.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue signed the Secretarial Derecho Disaster Declaration after he and other state and federal leaders toured Stolee Farms near Radcliffe. The signing allows farmers to apply for new emergency loans which are part of an assistance program provided by the Farm Service Agency.
