Tom Steyer at River Tap

Democratic presidential candidate Tom Steyer speaks with potential voters at The River Tap in Iowa Falls on Friday.

Billionaire and Democratic presidential candidate Tom Steyer made his case to about 25 people at The River Tap in Iowa Falls on Friday.

Steyer didn't officially jump into the crowded field of Democrats until early last month, and now he's playing catch up. He's pledged to spend $100 million to dethrone President Donald Trump. He's making a bet that people will be more receptive to another businessman rather than a lifelong politician. One of his tent pole issues is climate change.
