Martea Engelson

Martea Engelson knew when she finished school in Alden that she wanted to go right back and start over again. Her dreams come true every day now, as a kindergarten teacher in Radcliffe.

When Martea Engelson graduated from Alden High School in 1992, she didn’t have to think very long about what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. She wanted to stay in school. Today she’s one of the kindergarten teachers at Hubbard-Radcliffe Elementary.

“I chose to study education at Iowa State due to the amazing teachers I had at Alden and several of my teacher aunts,” Engelson said. “I love teaching kindergarten because they have so many changes in their social and academic development throughout the year. At this age, they learn so much by playing and interacting with materials.”
