Iowa Falls Road Work

Work began this week to mill off the top surface of some of the side streets in this summer’s construction zone. Eventually, contractors will lay a new top surface of asphalt on the roads.

A major project that will disrupt traffic on one of Iowa Falls’ main roads for most of this summer has begun.

The Iowa Department of Transportation will resurface Oak Street/Hwy. 65 through Iowa Falls, from Cadet Road at the north edge of town, south to Hansen Family Hospital. As an add-on to the project, the City of Iowa Falls is resurfacing some side streets and repairing and replacing infrastructure, mostly between Rocksylvania Avenue and Pine Street.

2019 Overlay Project

The streets highlighted in red will see infrastructure work (storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water and curb/gutter) and will get an asphalt overlay this summer, as the Iowa DOT undertakes a project on Highway 65/Oak Street through Iowa Falls.
