Take a moment and think about all of the work that’s done by volunteers in your community. Plantings and decorations that beautify the business district. Committees that plan festivals and free local events. Church dinners. Student mentoring and coaching. Food pantries. Historical societies. Now imagine how your community would look, and the recreation that would be available without those people giving of their time.

Those volunteers’ dedication is what inspired us to center this year’s special Working Women section around the women who give their talents, creativity and time to the towns in Hardin County. That special section is part of today’s Times Citizen and Ackley World Journal.
