There are sure signs the season is changing. School is in session, farmers are busy with the harvest, and leaves are changing. I wish I could say as the season changes, fraud and scam attempts slow but that is not the case.

The trends we are seeing impact our community and are consistent across the state and country. Data breaches like the recent Wolfe Eye Clinic ransomware case impacted over 500,000 individuals, grandparent gift card scams continue to be reported as have the tech support scam. Traditional fraud still occurs and includes: unauthorized debit card transactions, theft, unsolicited and fraudulent checks arriving by mail. Too good to be true get rich quick schemes abound.
