To the Editor:

On the Fourth of July I was fortunate to see and hear Beto O’Rourke at a home in Williams, Iowa. As a Democrat I feel it’s up to each of us to become as informed as possible on the candidates. Each of us has concerns about various issues and I wanted to hear what Beto had to say about healthcare. While he doesn’t stand for Medicare for all, he operates from the standpoint that there are people in this country who are entirely satisfied with their own healthcare, and they should be allowed to stay with it if it does work for them. For those who aren’t as fortunate there will be an opportunity to enroll in Medicare. Beto will work to see that prescription drugs are affordable to all, as well as insurance premiums.
