Being from Colorado, I just assumed Iowa was a state that got hit with tornadoes every day and I was actually a little nervous to move here. When one Iowan heard I was from Colorado, she assumed I was from a state where avalanches were swallowing people and communities on the regular. I guess we don’t know what life is really like until we’ve lived in these other places.

When I told my Colorado friends where we were moving, they thought I was moving to the “potato” state. Once I got confused and told someone we were moving to Ohio. Fact is, if you don’t live there, you just don’t know and it’s easy to get stuff messed up.
