According to the history books, the toughest job facing America’s founding fathers was the problem of just how to elect a president and vice president of the United States. Thus, after much debate, they solved their problem by the adoption of Article II, Section I into the United States Constitution:

“The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows:
