In flipping through the pages of history and comparing world leadership down through the ages, there is no doubt in my mind that Speaker of the House U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi is a strategist and that U.S. President Donald Trump is a tactician. This distinction is quite obvious in their use of the terms “we” and “me.” And not to forget, Nancy was the only girl in her family and survived growing up with six older brothers.
Looking back at World War II, we all are aware of the overall strategic leadership of Allied Supreme Commander Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower and the superb tactician-in-your-face battlefield tank commander Gen. George S. Patton. Neither, in my opinion, could have done the other’s job. Ike had to keep the political peace among our temperamental allied generals (especially British Gen. Bernard Montgomery and French Gen. Charles De Gaulle) while I suspect that at the first opportunity Patton would have knocked each of the egotistical generals on their duffs (a tactical maneuver).
