Small towns are only as small as we make them.
When I moved here almost 14 years ago, I did it against my better judgment. I didn’t want to live in a small town and I definitely didn’t want to stunt the growth of my career by working at a small-town weekly newspaper. But a year of reporting at a corporate-owned daily newspaper had made me unhappy, and I was desperate to get out. When a job opened up at the Times Citizen in Iowa Falls, I took it, promising myself I’d only spend a year here. Whoops.
