Samuel Vega

Ellsworth Community College Baseball Coach Samuel Vega is already preparing for next season after the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) canceled the spring season due to the coronavirus pandemic. Vega said he's taking lessons learned at each of his baseball stops and incorporating those experiences into his own coaching philosophy.

Through 20 games of his first season leading the Ellsworth Community College baseball program, Samuel Vega was already seeing many of the qualities he believes will be crucial for on-the-field success.

While the Panthers finished the aborted season with a 4-16 record, Vega said his team was starting to show encouraging signs. That didn’t make the NJCAA’s (National Junior College Athletic Association) decision to cancel the remainder of the season any easier for his staff or players.
