Kaden Abbas

AGWSR freshman Kaden Abbas struggled on bottom in his Iowa State Championships debut Thursday. He dropped two matches to end his season. Tyce Ruffridge of Pocahontas Area rode him out the final period-plus to knock him out in the consolation round.

Kaden Abbas knew he needed work on the bottom position. His first trip to the Iowa State Championships proved him right.

Abbas, a 25-14 freshman, went 0-2 in Class 1A at 120. Losing twice on Thursday ended his debut in Des Moines.
