AGWSR vs. South Hardin Softball

AGWSR’s Sammi deNeui hauls in this throw from second baseman MaKenna Kuper to get Jaiden Roy for the final out. AGWSR won the NICL-West contest 3-1 in Ackley Thursday night.

Nobody remembers the last time the AGWSR Cougars (8-3) and South Hardin Tigers (1-6) went a full seven innings, let alone played to a two-run decision. Both happened Thursday in Ackley, with the hosts edging SH 3-1, rendering any forgotten past meetings moot.

“We had opportunities to score, we just didn’t get quite as many as we’d like,” said Tiger head coach Becky Rosonke. “This is the first time I think we’ve gone seven innings in three or four years, so I’m pretty happy with that.”
