Cleaning equipment

After practice, the Ellsworth Community College volleyball team cleans all of the equipment they used to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and with the hopes of having a season in January.

Athletics may look different for Ellsworth Community College and other colleges across the country this fall, but there are some positives the glean from the changes.

Student-athletes were able to get back to some semblance of a routine and return to campus. However, all National Junior College Athletic Association competitions – with the exception of cross country – have been postponed until 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

ECC football

The ECC football season will get started in March, but to prepare, athletes returned to campus and returned to some normalcy with two months of practices this fall.

ECC Volleyball

One of the biggest changes for the ECC volleyball team is wearing masks during practice. Since social distancing is not possible while playing on the court, the Panthers wear face coverings to protect themselves and others.
