ECC softball

Space is limited inside, so teams like the Ellsworth Community College softball team did most of their workouts outdoors to prepare for the upcoming season in 2021.

In a typical year, Ellsworth Community College would have completed its fall sports season and be knee deep into the winter schedules by now.

But, 2020 has been far from normal.

New workouts

Student-athletes left campus on Nov. 24 and won't return until Jan. 4. When they do return to ECC, they will quarantine for 72 hours before getting to practice. That means it will be extremely important for athletes to exercise on their own during that time.

Extra precautions

Before athletes enter the facilities, they are checked for a temperature and given hand sanitizer. During practice, they wear masks and try to maintain six foot of distance. After practice, coaches clean all of the equipment and the floors before the next group can enter.
