Nolan Frohwein

Iowa Falls-Alden's Nolan Frohwein came down with this catch during Friday's showdown with second-ranked Clear Lake. The Cadets turned the ball over four times and lost the Class 2A, District 3 title game, 28-7. IF-A's season came to an end with a 6-3 record.

Second-ranked Clear Lake and Iowa Falls-Alden played Friday's regular season finale with much higher stakes than bragging rights. The winner not only punched an automatic ticket to the playoffs, but earned the right to host a first-round game. On the other side, the loser was left waiting a couple hours to see if their season would get extended with an at-large berth into the postseason.

The Lions (9-0) played mistake-free football for the most part, and took advantage of four IF-A turnovers in winning the contest by a 28-7 final.
